Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to full-time / part-time Ph. D. Programmes in the Spring Semester of Academic Session 2025-26 (January-June 2026) in the disciplines listed below. The Ph.D. admissions will be through AI-based remotely proctored SHUATS Online Ph.D. Entrance Test (SOPET) and Online Departmental Interview.

Note: Admissions in Ph.D. Programmes will be as per the latest UGC Regulations.

Note:
  1. Candidates who have cleared the UGC/ICAR/CSIR JRF Test within one year from the date of this advertisement need not appear in the SHUATS Online Ph.D. Entrance Test (SOPET). However, they must fill the Entrance Test Application Form and appear for the Online Interview on 13th February, 2026, along with all original testimonials and certificates.
  2. The minimum duration for the Regular Ph.D. programme shall be three (3) years, and for the Part-Time Ph.D. programme, the minimum duration shall be four (4) years.
  3. Working professionals applying for the Regular Ph.D. programme must submit a No-Objection Certificate and Leave Certificate from the appropriate authority of their organization and must be submitted at the time of Counselling, Registration, and Admission.
  4. Working professionals applying for the Part-Time Ph.D. programme must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the appropriate authority of their organization, clearly stating that:
    1. The candidate is permitted to pursue studies on a Part-Time basis.
    2. His/her official duties allow sufficient time to devote to research.
    3. If required, he/she will be relieved from duties to complete the course work.
    The NOC must be submitted at the time of Counselling, Registration, and Admission.
  5. The fee for the Part-Time Ph.D. programme shall be the same as that of the Regular Ph.D. programme. To ensure continuity of registration, candidates must pay the prescribed semester-wise fee regularly until submission of the thesis for evaluation.

There will be 100 objective type questions, out of which 20 questions are based on General / Academic aptitude and 80 questions are based on the subject studied at master's level.
